INJURY!!!!!

So in my intense training today, my right knee is slightly swollen and hurting. I got some great hikes in last week while at Bear Lake Reserve, only to be set back today!! Some Voltaren gel and Celebrex should do the trick! I am hoping to get some nice hiking in this weekend, despite the oodles of rain that is being predicted.

I hope to persevere!!! Until then...

Another Week

Last week was very productive. Twice a week workouts, all my vaccinations and my visa!! All in one week! SO here if the answer KILI is 19,364 feet tall, the tallest single mountain in Africa. It has a rapidly receeding glacier cap!

Please do visit my donation site below. They really need your help. Any amount is more than what they have now. If you can spare some change, please do donate!

Today training

I went on a one mile hike today behind Soap Creek with a 20lb pack and my trekking poles. It was tiring and exciting all in one. I followed it with a 6.5mile bike ride too!! I ordered more gear ($$$) and keep thinking I maybe going through mid-life crisis to be doing this!! NONE THE LESS, I am going.

For all of you that are following me, thanks for your support. As you know, I am supporting two charities that are dear to my heart.

SO, here is my proposal. Please donate to these causes. Nothing is too much or too little. Every penny helps. Click on the links below to see what A School Bell Rings has done so far. We are launching Kids4Kids360 which will empower kids to fundraise for kids in these schools. I hope you will support us with whatever you can spare. A PENNY A FOOT WOULD BE AWESOME!!

HOW TALL IS KILIMANJARO? Stay tuned to find out.....

Training or NOT!!

Well, we are 52 days away from leaving. I have been working out 5-6 days a week with trailing 2 days a week. I am walking around the neighborhood with a 20 pound pack and look utterly silly! This weekend, Stone Mountain (not really a mountain). Maybe I can get a trip into Denver before we leave for altitude training. I am definitely taking Diamox. I also sent off for my visas this week, bought some more gear, and did more research on what more I need. The most important is how to charge my ipod nano on the trip.
